Mumbai, Feb 12 (SocialNews.XYZ) Cardinal Gracias High School, Bandra kept their nerves to eke out a thrilling two-wicket win over Gokuldham High School, Goregaon in an under-14 boys match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament at Cross Maidan on Wednesday.
Cardinal bowler Heramb Kanukale bagged four wickets to restrict his opponents to a meagre 74 runs. He then top scored with 12 runs for his team, playing his part in a tricky low-scoring chase.
Yuvraj Gupta was the other batsman to reach double figures as Cardinal reached the target in 23.4 overs after losing eight wickets.
Kanukale's destructive bowling at Youth's Own Union pitch and useful contribution with the bat won him 'Player of the Match' award.
Shreyansh Hirlekar of Swami Vivekanand International School, Kandivali lit up the Sunder C.C. pitch at Cross Maidan with a classy tonne. The batsman scored 128 runs to star in his school's massive 183-run win over N.G. Vartak High School, Virar.
Riding Player of the Match Hirlekar's impressive hundred, Swami Vivekanand made 291/3 in 33 overs. Pranav Sawant (67) supported him well with a half-century. Chasing an improbable total, the Vartak boys were never in the chase and played defensively, managing just 108/8 in 33 overs.
