With AAP set to return, Congress ends as loser in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) With Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leading in 57 seats after several rounds of counting, it now seems appears certain that the 'broom' is set to retain power while BJP might have to remain content with minor increment in its tally.

The Congress, like 2015, remains without a seat in the assembly -- so far -- but this time with even less vote share.

According to data by Election Commission of India, AAP was leading on 57 seats with 53.23 per cent vote share, looking set for a third term in the Delhi assembly.

The 'broom' (AAP's symbol) was followed by BJP which was leading in 13 seats and had a vote share of 39.06 per cent.

The Congress was trailing on all seats and looks to have lost a considerate part of its vote share from 2015. According to trends, Congress had only 4.15 per cent of the vote share, almost half of 2015 where it had 9.7 per cent share.

In 2015, AAP had won 67 seats with vote share of 54.3 per cent. With this, AAP became the first party in Delhi to win with 67 seats in the history of Delhi assembly elections. The BJP was able to get only 3 seats with vote share of 32.3 per cent.

Among the big players, Arvind Kejriwal was leading from New Delhi by 8,277 votes. His nearest candidate Sunil Yadav from BJP received 6,384 votes.

However, Kejriwal's right hand man and Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was struggling from Patparganj constituency as he trailed by 2,182 votes against BJP's Ravinder Singh Negi.
