Free, discounted offers soon for Indian SolidWorks users: CEO

Nashville (US), Feb 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) Entrepreneurs and educational institutions globally including in India who are using 3D CAD software SolidWorks will see amazing offers coming their way - some even free -- in the days to come as they onboard the 3DExperience Cloud platform, according to Gian Paolo Bassi, CEO, SolidWorks, Dassault Systemes.

"We are refining the offers for educational institutions and entrepreneurs. I can tell you that entrepreneurs will be able to use the platform for free for at least one year which will be heavily-discounted thereafter. We will also have very compelling offers for the educational institutions," Bassi told IANS on Tuesday.

"It will not be free for students but it will provide a huge value proposition as moving onto the Cloud platform will save institutions a lot of money. The students will also be able to use their own devices," Bassi explained on the sidelines of the '3DExperience World' event here.

The global 3DExperience major has announced new '3DExperience Works' commercial offers that will help the 3D CAD software users develop new customer solutions seamlessly.

The new offers include SolidWorks' standard, professional and premium applications that are installed from, licensed from, and updated in the 3DExperience platform, with data stored in it.

According to Bassi, it is not about giving free software but about building the curriculum, supporting the educational institutions and helping students with certification opportunities.

"Kids will find jobs faster and better ones. We want to bring students to the next level of the future of design," said Bassi.

French 3DExperience platform company Dassault Systemes registered 14 per cent growth in the adoption of its 3D CAD software SolidWorks in India in 2019.

SolidWorks has over 9,000 commercial customers in India and close to 1,500 academic customers. The platform has more than 1,50,000 users in the country.

"The new connection between SolidWorks and 3DExperience platform would be relevant for the India market which is already a mature market in terms of engineering talent. Fundamentally, it will help Indian customers explore a world of engineering capabilities that was not possible before," informed the SolidWorks CEO.
