Delhi cops lend helping hand to elderly voters, earn kudos

New Delhi, Feb 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Police personnel posted at polling booths across Delhi on Saturday received appreciation for assisting senior citizens and differently-abled people to cast their votes in the 70-Assembly constituencies in the city that went to polls.

The initiative of the Election Commission to provide special arrangements for differently abled voters and senior citizen hailed by the Twitterati.

 

The special arrangements were made to aid the differently-abled voters and senior citizens in casting their votes in 13,750 polling booths at 2,689 locations across the capital.

Taking to the Twitter handle @DelhiPolice wrote, "Helping the citizens in exercising their democratic right. #DelhiElections2020"

A user wrote, "#DelhiPolice is doing commendable job! 24 hours ready to help the citizens. It's only @ArvindKejriwal ji and his anarchists gang who despise and abuse Delhi Police Personnel."

Another wrote, "Very good service. But next time take strict action on hate speeches."

A post read, "Elders being wheelchaired in by youthful volunteers aside first time voters. Young smart lady polling officers, a social melting pot - this IS what we should be proud of - democracy for 1.4 crore Delhiietes. No other place in the world like this phenomenon."

"This is the most beautiful picture of democracy, very good job. @DelhiPolice we proud of you", read another post.

"But are you helping protect the constitution? For the last 2 months, some idiots have blocked a major road and people are suffering due to that. People are stuck in jam for hours, ambulances are stuck. If you have any conscience, remove the Shaheen Bagh protesters" asked one user.
