New Delhi, Feb 8 (SocialNews.XYZ) Despite suffering a small loss in vote share, Arvind Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to storm back to power in the Delhi Assembly elections while the BJP projected to gain some vote share.
In the Assembly elections in 2015, AAP, which won a landslide 67 of the total 70 seats, had garnered 54.3 per cent vote share which is projected to come down to 50.4 per cent in 2020 but will still enable it to sweep the elections with 49-63 seats, as per the IANS-CVoter Exit Poll.
On the polling day, AAP had a projected lead of over 14 percentage points over its principal rival, the BJP which is enough to make it a big projected victory.
The BJP, which had only 3 seats in the previous assembly, is set to see vote share increase from 32.2 per cent to 36 per cent and also see its seats increase from 5-19.
The third party in the running, Congress is projected to show a marginal loss in vote share from 9.7 per cent to 9 per cent and its seat tally is expected to remain to 0-4 seats. The Congress had no seats in the previous elections.
The vote share of other parties, which was 3.8 per cent in the 2015 elections, is also going up to 4.7 per cent but the lead by the AAP is such that the bulk of the seats are going only to Kejriwal's party.
