Debutante director Anubhuti Kashyap says she is really excited for her web-series with Amazon Prime Video India, which has its World Premiere last night in Mumbai.
Amazon Prime Video India hosted a world premiere for their next web-series Afsos, starring Gulshan Devaiah, Anjali Patil, Heeba Shah, where a suicidal man and a deadly assassin encounter the world of immortality.
The web series is directed by Anubhuti Kashyap who has been the assistant director of Anurag Kashyap for his acclaimed movies – Gangs of Wasseypur and Dev D.
Talking about the series, Anubhuti said, “Really excited for Afsos, it is a very different kind of story. It is a satire, it is a dark comedy, and when people will watch it, I think they will like it. It is funny and it is dark, I don’t think this space has been explored or seen in web-series, as most of them are based on gangster stuff”
“Shooting was fun, it was hectic and we had fun shooting the action part. After watching the trailer, people think they might have a little idea about the story, but the story is totally different” added Anubhuti.
Written by by Dibya Chatterjee and Anirban Dasgupta, Afsos is about a man, who has nothing going right in his life. He’s attempted to kill himself 11 times, but he’s even failed at that. He’s been removed from four jobs. He’s a failed writer as well. In his own words, his life story is so bad that it seems, he has only written it. He hires an agency to kill him so that the ‘job’ is finally done.
The star cast also include Anirban Dasgupta, Dibya Chatterjee, Sourav Ghosh, Aakash Dahiya, Dhruv Sehgal, Ratnabali Bhattacharya, Ujjwal Chopra and Jamie Alter.
"Afsos" is an upcoming black comedy-suspense series on Amazon Prime Video. The web series is produced under Only Much Louder.
