New Delhi, Feb 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) A total of 16.61 lakh people have been successfully placed after availing training under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY 2.0), Union Minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship R.K. Singh informed the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
In a written reply to a query, the minister said, "As many as 73.47 lakh youths have availed training under the PMKVY 2016-20, of whom 16.61 lakh candidates have been placed."
The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has been implementing PMKVY 2.0 with a view to imparting skill development training to the prospective youth across 371 courses.
In addition, long-term training in 137 trades is being imparted through 15,697 industrial training institutes (ITI) under the Craftsman Training Scheme, with a cumulative seating capacity of 34.30 lakh.
