Madrid, Jan 31 (SocialNews.XYZ) FC Barcelona have confirmed they loaned striker Carles Perez to Italian side AS Roma. The 21-year-old joins Roma on loan until the end of the season, when the deal becomes permanent, with Roma paying Barca 11 million euros (around 12 million US dollars) for the forward, with a possible further 4.5 million to be paid depending on a series of factors.
Perez made his first team debut for Barcelona in May 2019, making a further 10 appearances in the Liga Santander and one in the Champions League this season and scoring two goals.
However, the return of Leo Messi and Luis Suarez to fitness and the form of 17-year-old Ansu Fati has persuaded Barcelona to cash in on the player as they look to sign a specialist center-forward.
Tuesday saw movement elsewhere in the transfer market with Sevilla signing Spain international Jesus Joaquin Fernandez 'Suso' from AC Milan.
Once again the initial deal is for an 18-month loan for the 26-year-old, but Sevilla would be obliged to make the deal permanent if they qualify for the Champions League in either this or next season.
Suso will work at Sevilla with coach Julen Lopetegui, who gave the winger his debt for the Spain national team.
