Lucknow, Jan 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Officers of the Provincial Police Services (PPS) and non-gazetted employees of the police force in Uttar Pradesh will now have to furnish details of their movable and immovable properties every year, failing which their promotions will be stalled.
A proposal to this effect has been sent to the state government by Uttar Pradesh Director General Police O. P. Singh.
Under the existing rules, the PPS officers are required to furnish their property details every five years, but majority of the officers conveniently have overlooked the rule.
"Despite reminders, most of the officers did not file the details even after five years. We now propose to make it annual and compulsory," he said.
For the IPS officers, it is mandatory to furnish property details annually, failing which they are not entitled for central deputation.
"For police personnel, other than IPS officers, we plan to make the same rule mandatory or else their promotion will be stalled," the DGP added.
There are about 466 IPS officers in the state and more than 400 have already furnished details of their properties.
The number of the PPS officers, meanwhile, is 1,200 and a total of 2.75 police personnel, including non-gazetted, will be impacted if the government accepts the DGP's proposal.
