New Delhi, Jan 26 (SocialNews.XYZ) On the eve of the Republic Day, over 75,000 WhatsApp shares and more than 15 crore views were received on over 2 lakh posts, says a study. Hindi emerged as a main language in over 50 per cent of such posts, reveals a study by ShareChat, a social media platform available in 15 Indian languages.
While this trend was captured from January 23 till 12.30 pm, January 25, the engagement is expected to increase substantially on Republic Day, said Rahul Nag, Communications Head at ShareChat.
Hindi has led the Republic Day posts on the platform, contributing close to 50 per cent of the posts. More than 5,000 patriotic songs were posted on the platform across 15 regional languages and witnessed over 40 lakh views. These song posts were shared on Whatsapp over 25,000 times.
More than 5,000 posts were created on them, with Punjab leading the post creation. These posts received more than 18,000 shares on WhatsApp. In an interesting observation, Bhagat Singh emerged as the most remembered freedom fighter in Punjab, while Mahatma Gandhi has been remembered the most across India.
"We have noted how people across India speaking different languages with different dialects are coming together on ShareChat to celebrate the 71st Republic Day," said Nag.
