New Delhi, Jan 15 (SocialNews.XYZ) Delhi University Vice Chancellor Yogesh Kumar Tyagi on Wednesday met Secretary HRD Amit Khare along with the Registrar of the university and discussed steps the administration is taking to resolve issues involving ad hoc teachers.
The meeting comes in the wake of DU Teachers Association's agitation on the issue of ad hoc teachers in the University. The university has already clarified to all colleges and institutions to appoint ad hoc, temporary, contractual teachers as well as guest faculty as an interim arrangement before filling permanent vacancies.
"The university has taken up the issue of additional requirement of faculty under EWS scheme with the UGC. The university will finalize a pro forma for promotion of teachers. It has also been clarified that the university will continue to consider past service as per UGC regulations," said an HRD statement.
It said the Secretary appealed to the stakeholders to withdraw their agitation and work for the smooth functioning of the institutions and colleges in the interest of students. "The HRD Ministry is committed to protecting the legitimate interests of all stakeholders," it added.
