Deepika Padukone praises press photographers at Photography Awards 2020

Actress Deepika Padukone praised photo-journalists at a recent award ceremony by saying that she has witnessed what kind of hard work they put in their work. She added that as an artist, she can understand their emotions behind clicking pictures.

 

Deepika Padukone was addressing the media at Photography Awards 2020 at Mumbai Press Club on Sunday in Mumbai.

Praising photo-journalists at the event, Deepika said, “I am really thankful that you (media) invited me over here. Every day, I get to see hard work of yours and sometimes, I think that why you put in so much effort in your work. I feel eating, drinking, sleeping and sanitation is one thing but to put your life at risk everyday is another thing. When I came here today, I realised that why you do that.”

Deepika added that she can see and feel the emotion behind pictures which were clicked by photo-journalists she said, “There is saying that ‘a picture says thousands words’ and today, it is such an apt moment to say those lines. There are 13 photographs that we saw here today and there is display of thought, emotion and talent in every picture. As an artist, I can see and feel these things. I feel not just these 13 winners but everyone is a winner for me because it is very important to express yourself. I wish all of you all the very best and I am really thankful to you for inviting at this event.”   

Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey starrer ‘Chhapaak’ released on 10th January. Deepika Padukone visited Jawaharlal Nehru University on Tuesday to show her solidarity with students and teachers who got injured by masked goons in the capital.

Since then, right wing organizations launched #BoycottDeepikaPadukone and #BoycottChhapaak campaign on social media.

‘Chhapaak’ has collected 19.02 crores at the box-office since its release and it is facing stiff competition from Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’.
