Rajinikanth is the biggest, and probably the only asset of today's release, Darbar. He sets the tempo high right from the opening scene till the very end with his energy and charisma. He carries the film on his shoulders.
Murugadoss has come up with an okayish story but Rajini shines bright in many key scenes in the film. If the same scenes featured any other actor, the output would have been completely different altogether.
The railway station fight scene and the emotional sequence in the penultimate stage of second half click mainly because of Rajinikanth. He shows his class with trademark antics and stunning performance.
Murugadoss played to his strengths and gave quite a few adrenaline-pumping sequences for Rajinikanth's ardent fans. The climax deserved more novelty and the entire film would have reached a new height if proper care was taken towards the same.
