When asked what made him say yes to the forgotten army, on this Sunny Kaushal said, ”Actually everything came together, I was shooting for another film and I got a call to audition for 'The Forgotten Army'. For me it was a great opportunity to be a part of the story, that I have heard and read about very little. When we started having reading session, I was just blown away by the sheer knowledge Kabir sir has about the subject. This was the moment I realized how special this story is for Kabir sir and how passionate he is about the subject. This added the responsibility on me as an actor to portrait the character sincerely. Kabir sir is a brilliant story teller, we asked one thing, and Kabir sir would unwrapped the whole story.”
