Centre amends Cadre Allocation Policy for civil services
New Delhi, Jan 7 (SocialNews.XYZ) The Centre has amended the Cadre Allocation Policy (CAP) 2017 for the all-India services -- Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Forest Service (IFS).

The modification in CAP-2017 shall be applicable to civil services examination from 2019 onwards, said an office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Personnel on Monday.

"Consequent to the promulgation of Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act 2019 and with reference to the Ministry of Home Affairs office memorandum dated December 4, 2019, the undersigned is directed to state, in partial modification of office memorandum dated September 5, 2017 (relating to Cadre Allocation Policy-2017)," the memorandum said.

As per the order, the memorandum said that "the state Cadre of Jammu and Kashmir mentioned under Zone-I in Para 2 of Cadre Allocation Policy-2017, issued vide DoP&T's (Department of Personnel and Training) office memorandum dated September 5, 2017, stands deleted."

The memorandum, however, mentioned that the remaining and other contents of the DoP&Ts office memorandum dated September 9, 2017 shall remain "unaltered".

The order comes after the Centre on August 5 last year moved a resolution in the Parliament to scrap Article 370 of the Indian Constitution which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Bill, 2019, to bifurcate the erstwhile state into two Union Territories -- Jammu and Kashmir with an Assembly and Ladakh without one.
