Film: Shimla Mirchi
Cast: Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, Rakul Preet Singh

Rating: *1/2

Summary - Ramesh Sippy's Shimla Mirchi is propelled from the essential thought of the play CYRANO DE BERGERAC - A letter with the correct feeling spans to the wrong person. This twisted romantic comedy stars Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao, and Rakul Preet Singh. At last, observing the light after a battle of around five years, Shimla Mirchi is a ghastly watch this weekend.
Story - The film set in lovely districts of Shimla. Avinash (Rajkumar Rao) is 26 but then gets pressurized from his family to get hitched. He chooses to remain back in Shimla after he experiences passionate feelings from the outset locate with Naina (Rakul Preet Singh). Naina is a determined worker, enduring on account of the patent's separation in close to home life. She's structured a cafe in Shimla and necessities an assistant for that. Avi considers this to be a chance to draw near to her and go after the position. Clearly, he gets chose and attempted to admit his affections for Naina. The essence of the story is about how a letter makes perplexity, and Avi rather than Naina turns into her mom's (Hema Malini) sweetheart.
Analysis - The situations of the film is very great and the film doesn't appear as dated as should've notwithstanding being postponed by Five years. It's just the appearance and looks of its lead stars Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh that remind you once in a while. However, despite disregarding that reality about the film, it neglects to engage or make you laugh. It's also loosely based on a French Rom-Com De Vrais Mensonges which itself is an awful film. The whole track of Hema Malini comes at recoil every second due to horrible writing and character sketching.
Direction & Music - The making by Ramesh Sippy unmistakably shows how he is as yet stuck in the well-established romantic tales which have next to no significance today at all. There's nothing novel about the film separated from the comedy of-blunders point and that also is written imprudently. It's so tragically miserable that such a delightful idea and the wonderful districts of Shimla in addition to awesome, elegance of Hema Malini, the scope of Rajkummar Rao and the irresistible appeal of Rakul Preet Singh, could do nothing to spare this constrained romantic tale to pass on a sudden death.
Star Performances - The gifts of Hema Malini, Rajkummar Rao and Rakul Preet Singh can do nothing to raise a level content that needs feelings and conviction and later transforms into its very own satire that never closes. Half of the credit goes to Rajkummar Rao, he is the main motivation behind why the film can be seen, his comic timing and his looks with Hema Malini can't be missed. Hema Malini pulled off her job easily and effortlessness however, the frail content didn't have her a lot to do. Rakul Preet Singh looks adorable, and her blending with Rajkummar is something the crowd may like. Shakti Kapoor is back with a blast, his exchanges, and jokes are pleasant however he has a constrained screen space. The surprise is Dharmendra's appearance, the best piece of the film is seeing Hema Malini's and Dharmendra's discussion in the climax, all hearts for it.
Verdict - Shimla Mirchi is a dull Rom-Com with a capable pair of entertainers. It's not possible for anyone to spare this film from Extinction. Releasing in theater following a multi-year delay was not an extraordinary move. A direct release on the streaming platform was the best idea.
