Mumbai, Dec 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) The national capital is likely to break the 119-year record of the coldest December day as North India shivered due to bone chilling cold on Monday.
India Meteorological Department took to the twitter and wrote, "It may be noted that at the Safdarjung Observatory, in the last 118 years (since 1901) the lowest maximum day temperature recorded was 11.3 degrees Celsius on December 28, 1997. It may be broken today (Monday) in the next 3 hours."
Tweeple who live for opportunities such as this, instantly began doing what they do best - making their silly little jokes that is.
One user wrote, "It's so cold in Delhi, even the Delhi Metro has switched on their warmers inside the coaches."
A post read, "Bought thermal wear. Bought another heater. So cold that fingers taking forever to key in...""Okay, okay.. I love winter, but this is deadly!!!!", added another.
A user on micro-blogging site Twitter wrote, "Monday coldest December day since 1901 in national capital, says IMD...Its officially time to bunk everything and sit inside blankets! On a different note, New Year's ka kya hoga?"
A user remarked, "Hey prabhu ab itni thand de hi rahe ho to thoda snowfall bhi krwa hi do!!"
