Filmmaker, writer Ashwini Iyer Tiwari is all geared up for her upcoming movie ‘Panga’, says that she wants to make such films, which should be archival. She further added that whether she gets retired after doing 5 to 6 films, become old or she dies. Her movies should be remembered by the people and that’s all she wants.
Ashwini Iyer Tiwari was interacting with the media on Sunday in Mumbai.
‘Panga’ is a sports drama film. The story of ‘Panga’ was conceived from the life of a national level Kabaddi player in July 2018. It follows her triumphs, struggle and overcoming of stereotypes. It shows that the support of family is important and stresses that your kin standing behind you, no one in the world can take ‘panga’ with you (mess with you).
The actors appearing in the film as kabbadi players including Kangana Ranaut underwent training in kabaddi for over two months.
When asked as a creative person how much she is satisfied with her movie ‘Panga’, on this Ashwini said, “I want to make such films, which should not only stay as films, it should be archived. Whether I am alive or dead, people should remember me for my work and that’s all I want. I don’t think about any awards. For me the award is all about my audiences love and their reviews which they bestow to my films. I feel incredible, when I receive messages like, my stories have touched their heart and this is enough for me.”
‘Panga’ is directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Fox Star Studios starring Kangana Ranaut,Jassi Gill, Richa Chadda, Neena Gupta and Yogya Bhasin. It is scheduled to release on 24 January 2020.
