Extra efforts needed from Delhi Police to curb cybercrimes: LG

New Delhi, Dec 23 (SocialNews.XYZ) Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Anil Baijal on Monday chaired a review meeting with Delhi Police officials at Raj Bhavan here to discuss cybercrimes in the capital.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Special Cell), Delhi Police; Chief Technological Officer, Delhi Police and Additional Commissioner of Police (Cyber & Tech. Cell), attended the meeting.

The Additional Commissioner (Cyber and Technology Cell) made a detailed presentation through which he apprised Baijal about the existing forensic facilities such as Memory Forensics Lab, Network Forensics Lab, Advanced Mobile Forensics Lab, Malware Forensics Lab, Cloud-Forensics Tool & Cryptocurrency Forensics Tool.

Baijal was informed that the cyber cell is equipped with Cyber Prevention Awareness and Detection Centre (CyPAD) and Advance cyber investigation training and multi-jurisdiction complex.

The officials also briefed the LG about various cases being dealt with by CyPAD and the action taken both at the level of investigation as well as educational efforts.

The LG directed the Delhi Police to prepare a database and analyse in detail various types of cybercrimes so that the cases may be categorised and effective action may be undertaken to prevent cybercrimes.

Baijal advised sensitising the public about various kinds of cybercrimes through vernacular as well as social media.
