Jaipur, Dec 21 (SocialNews.XYZ) A German tourist group plans to plant saplings during its Rajasthan visit to offset their contribution to pollution of the desert state.
The group will visit Rajasthan on January 13, 2020 and plant saplings at selected locations on way to different tourist locations in the state.
According to tour operator Sanjay Kaushik, this group is worried about the impact of rising pollution and felt the buses they would be using during their travel to tourist spots would pollute those areas. "Hence, they have decided to plant saplings, Kaushik said.
It's an attempt to offset the pollution their travel would cause, he said and added, other tourists visiting historical locations in Rajasthan could learn from them and might follow them.
The travel escort has been asked to select the locations for planting saplings. The group also plans to depute people to take care of these plants for the next two months and will also pay them.
According to travel experts, if others people visiting Rajasthan start taking a cue from the German tourists, this desert state might turn green and help combat challenges being thrown up by rising pollution.
