New Delhi, Dec 19 (SocialNews.XYZ) Golden Glove gold medallist Vijaydeep, who is aiming to win a medal at the 2024 Olympics, has said that the Khelo India Youth Games provide an excellent platform for youngsters. The third edition of the competition will be held in Guwahati from January 9 to 22 next year.
"I have taken part in two Khelo India Games editions so far. I was in the Maharashtra team for both the editions. The tournament was a great experience. The competition has provided a fantastic platform for youngsters to showcase their talent. The athletes get a lot of exposure in one place," said the boxer.
Vijaydeep clinched gold while participating for the Maharashtra U-17 side in the inaugural edition of the Games in Delhi in 2018. The 18-year-old is currently taking part in the Big Bout Indian Boxing League.
"I am currently preparing for the Khelo India Games by taking part in the Big Bout Indian Boxing League. After this competition, I will go back to the Army Institute in Pune and continue practicing there," said Vijaydeep.
Vijaydeep has made a strong statement by winning three medals in the youth boxing circuit.
"I have taken part in youth international competitions so far. I won gold in Golden Glove in Serbia last year and clinched gold in an invitational tournament in the Czech Republic this year. I have won two golds and one silver in my youth career so far," said Vijaydeep.
