The sources in the Ministry of Home Affairs told IANS that police will take the help of the social media organisations to curb fake news and also to identify people indulging in rumour mongering.

The sources also said that the alleged footage of a policeman pointing a gun in Jamia Nagar is being investigated.

Police will also try to identify the people connected to the violence that erupted during anti-CAA protests at Jamia Nagar area of south Delhi on Sunday and Seelampur in east Delhi on Tuesday, the sources said, adding that except at Road No 13 near the Jamia Millia Islamia, there are no gatherings anywhere.

Stating that the situation in Delhi is peaceful, they said that the violence in Seelampur was controlled after some time and six more people were arrested on Wednesday, taking the total arrests since Tuesday to eight. All the eight are residents of the area.
