Students of Jamia Millia Islamia University came under attack for protesting against CAB and NRC. Heavily armed Delhi Police marched into campus and hostels, firing tear gas shells and beating student, including male and female.

A video clip of law student, a young girl, scared to death and in tears, took to camera and explained the most horrible experience about Delhi Police, marching into girl’s hostel and beating up students.

B-Town celebrities such as Taapsee Pannu, Kanika Dhillon, Siddharth, Amyra Dastur, Vishal Dadlani and many more took to their respective social media profiles and condemn the violence against students.

Actress Taapsee Pannu wrote, “Wonder if this is a start or the end. Whatever it is, this is surely writing new rules of the land and those who don’t fit in can very well see the consequences. This video breaks heart n hopes all together. Irreversible damage, and I’m not talking about just the life n property”

Writer Kanika Dhillon wrote, “There maybe times when we are powerless to prevent injustice but there never must be a time when we fail to protest’ Elie Wiesel. #BHU #AMURejectsCAB #AligarhMuslimUniversity #JamiaProtest #JamiaMilia IIT Mumbai #JNU”

Actor Siddharth shared, “These two are not Krishna and Arjuna. They are Shakuni and Duryodhana.  Stop attacking #universities! Stop assaulting #students! #JamiaMilia #JamiaProtest”

Actress Amyra Dastur wrote, “The Amendment Act is facing widespread criticism in India and abroad for being violative of the SECULAR CONSTITUTION of INDIA and its promise of equality under Article 14! We are legalising RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION!”

Singer and composer Vishal Dadlani wrote, “Answer two simple questions. 1. Who controls the Delhi police? 2. Who benefits most when the pre-election discussion in Delhi shifts from bijli-paani-school-hospital to religion and hatred? If you answer these honestly, you already know why and how all this is happening. #ResistCAB”

The Supreme Court, meanwhile, said it will hear all matters related to the new citizenship law on December 18. Protests against the amended act that started in Assam and Bengal last week have now spread to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, with universities in Hyderabad and Mumbai also witnessing solidarity marches.
