Bengaluru, Dec 5 (SocialNews.XYZ) By-elections in Bengaluru city on Thursday received lukewarm response from voters by the end of the third round of polling.
Though 10 Assembly seats recorded a voting percentage of more than 50 per cent at the end of the third round at 3 p.m., the four city constituencies were lagging behind.
The four constituencies going to the polls in the city on Thursday include K.R. Pura with 29 per cent voting after the third round of polling, Yeshwantpura at 38 per cent, Mahalakshmi Layout at 31 per cent and Shivajinagar at 33 per cent.
"Urban apathy is the main reason for poor voting in the city. However, we hope the polling percentage will pick up by the time it ends at 6 p.m," BJP's Karnataka spokesperson G. Madhusudan told IANS.
Vijayanagara is another constituency outside the city which recorded less than 50 per cent polling at 47 per cent at the end of the third round of polling.
K.R. Pura is 4,87,857 voters strong, Mahalakshmi Layout 2,85,869, Yeshwantpura 4,80,953 and Shivajinagar 1,93,844.
