New Delhi, Nov 30 (SocialNews.XYZ) Legendary Hollywood director Martin Scorsese's much-anticipated "The Irishman" released on streaming giant Netflix on November 27.
The 209-minute long, star-studded gangster drama features Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci and Ray Romano in one frame. Based on Charles Brandt's non-fiction "I Heard You Paint Houses", "The Irishman" is a saga of organised crime in post-war America told through the eyes of World War II veteran Frank Sheeran (De Niro), a hustler and hitman who worked alongside some of the most notorious figures of the 20th century.
After its recent release on Netflix, Tweeple reactions to "The Irishman" have been strong, and divided.
A fan on the micro-blogging site remarked, "The movie is over three hours and honestly, I could've watched these movie legends for another three. It was incredible, and it's one of those movies that I wish I could've watched being made."
Another post read, "If you haven't seen "The Irishman" yet -- enjoy every three hours and twenty eight minutes of it. It's absolutely magnificent."
"It's 4 am. I conveniently can't sleep. #TheIrishman has been live since 3 am. I think I'm going to fit it in before work. I actually did the same thing last year with 'Roma' the day it went up. I had more to gain from that, since I saw Irishman in theatres already," added another.
However, a number of Twitter users complained of the film not worth watching. One user wrote, "I'm just gonna come right out and say it #TheIrishman absolutely sucked!!!!!!!!! So long, so boring, de' niro is shot out, the whole movie appears like everyone read the script once, shot the scene once, and said 'f**k it".
A tweeeple commented, "Is the Irishman a better movie than Doctor Strange? Yes... Is it also way too long and sort of boring as shit? Also yes."
Another said, "Seeing tweets that are saying #TheIrishman is boring and dull. I'm truly convinced that Marvel movies have made it to where general audiences can't sit through a 3+ hour movie without quips and jokes that ruin the tone in every scene."
