Seoul, Nov 29 (SocialNews.XYZ) South Korea's top nuclear envoy Lee Do-hoon held phone talks with his US and Japanese counterparts after the North Korea's test-firing of short-range projectiles, Yonhap news agency reported Friday citing Seoul's foreign ministry.
Lee, South Korea's special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, spoke by phone with Stephen Biegun, US special representative for North Korea affairs earlier in the day, Xinhua news agency reported.
Lee also held phone talks with Shigeki Takizaki, head of the Japanese foreign ministry's Asian and Oceanian affairs bureau on Thursday night.
The phone talks came after North Korea fired two projectiles, presumed to be launched from a super-large multiple rocket launcher, from its eastern region into the East Sea Thursday afternoon.
The projectiles flew about 380 km at a maximum altitude of some 97 km. It marked the 13th test-firing by the DPRK of projectiles this year. The latest test-launch was conducted on October 31.
