Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who next will be seen onscreen in ‘Marjaavaan’, has said that he has taken inspiration for his role in the film from top actors Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan who have successfully played larger than life and massy roles in their career.
Sidharth Malhotra was interacting with the media to promote ‘Marjaavaan’ along with his co-actor Riteish Deshmukh and film’s director Milap Zaveri on Wednesday in Mumbai.
Marjaavaan is a story of love birds Raghu (Sidharth Malhotra) and Zoya (Tara Sutaria) enjoying their lives until a vertically challenged gang leader (Riteish Deshmukh) with harmful intentions turns their world upside down.
Sidharth is playing larger than life and massy character in the film, He said that he took inspiration for his role from top actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan who have been immensely successful in this genre, he said, “You don’t do larger than life things in your real life. I am fighting with ten people at the same time and I am breaking things. I have been a fan of Bachchan saab (Amitabh Bachchan) or Shah Rukh (Khan) sir who has played these kind of roles very successfully in their careers. I have taken inspiration from them so that we can do something interesting in our zone. I think the things that you do in a film should look convincing and believable to the audience when they watch a film.”
Sidharth added that his upcoming film is basically a love story, he said, “Our film is a basically a love story and it’s a universal subject. People like to watch love stories whether it’s in multiplexes or single screen theatres. We have been making love stories from the beginning and it will be made in future as well”
‘Marjaavaan’ is directed by Milap Zaveri and starring Riteish Deshmukh, Sidharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles. It is now scheduled to be theatrically released in India on 15 November 2019.
