Yami Gautam is feeling delighted after success of ‘Bala’

Actress Yami Gautam, who played role a TikTok star in her recently released film ‘Bala’, has said that she is feeling really happy with the success of romantic-comedy film. She also added that entire team should be given credit for the success of the film.

Yami Gautam was interacting with the media after special screening of ‘Bala’ on Monday in Mumbai.

‘Bala’ is doing extremely well at the theatres as is suggested by the collection of first three days. The film has crossed Rs 50-crore mark on Day 4. The film earned Rs 8.26 crore on Day 4 i.e. Monday taking the total collection of the film at the end of four days to Rs 52.21 crore.

Talking about success of the film, Yami said, “I am really happy the way film is doing in theatres because we all knew that Amar (Kaushik) has made really good film but when you get such kind of response which shows in box-office numbers, it feels special. In just three days, the film has done really well. We are getting a lot of calls, messages and people are sharing the videos while watching the film in theatre so, it feels very overwhelming.”

Yami added that she is feeling happy that audience appreciated her performance in the film, she said, “People are connecting with the film and they are saying that we feel it. They are finding the film funny and entertaining. I played very different role in the film for the first time. I am feeling really happy that I got the opportunity to play role of Pari who is a TikTok queen so, I am very happy.”

‘Bala’ revolves around a man living in Kanpur who is suffering from premature baldness, and the story is about his lack of confidence and societal pressure that comes with balding. It also stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

Audiences are appreciating acting of the cast of the film when asked Yami whether actors should be given credit for the success of the film, Yami said,  “I think when a film gets success then, the credit of it should be given to the entire team who has made the film. It all starts with writing and I think Niren Bhatt has written really good script. Amar Kaushik is very good director and Dinesh Vijan is very credible as a producer. I think actors like Ayushmann Khurrana, Bhumi Pednekar, Seema Pahwa, Saurabh Shukla and Abhishek Gautam has done fantastic job so, I think all this contribute to the success of the film.”

When asked Yami how she looks at lead character of the film, she said, “I feel bald men are really cool and the whole idea of the film is to tell people that they should love themselves and then only you can expect the other person to love yourself.”

Talking about response for the film from the film fraternity, Yami said, “I am getting really positive feedback from people of the industry. I value all of them. I have often observed that actresses get very less opportunity to do comedy in a film. I think Sridevi is the only actress which comes to my mind when we think of playing comic characters. She is untouched and her talent is unmatched so, when Janhvi (Kapoor) messaged me after watching the film, then I felt really good because for me, it has a sentimental connect and I am so thankful to everyone who has praised our film.”
