Aakasha Ganga 2 is a continuation of the 90s horror movie Aakasha Ganga. The movie is directed by Vinayan who had helmed the initial segment as well. Aakasha Ganga 2 stars Veena Nair, Ramya Krishnan, Vinayan's child Vishnu Vinay, Sreenath Bhasi, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Hareesh Kanaran, Vishnu Govindan.
Story: The story rotates around Manikyassery Tharavad, the tribal house frequented by the wrathful soul of a servant (Ganga). The plot opens with Arathi, the focal character in the film who is a medical student and an agnostic, and her lover Gopikrishnan. Arathi is the girl of Maya and Unnikrishnan. Alluding to the prequel we realize that Maya had terminated while bringing forth Arathi. In the interim, the entire family is influenced by the anger of the soul of Ganga who was singed alive in a pyre. Gopikrishnan and his friends dig at the young lady's detest towards strict convictions. The gathering is a blend of individuals who accept or question the paranormal domain. The story advances through different episodes that may not give any vibe of frightfulness.
Analysis: Following some obligatory done-to-death circumstances of this kind, the watching experience is a repulsiveness story in itself. The main hour of the film attempts to construct superfluous pressure which is punched directly all over with a bit of extremely decent background music. From guileless dialogues to a pitiful screenplay. Where it flounders is in the absence of oddity in the scenes that component the soul, and its bleeding trail: there is a decent develop for the movie, yet then everything gets normal. Somewhat more thoughtfulness regarding that, and to the storyline, and this will end up being a strong franchisee.
We can't censure any actors for an awful script. Veena Nair makes a reasonable showing yet her exhibition appears laidback, probably in view of the dreary content. Vishnu Vinay is also watchable. Dharmajan is standard. Hareesh Kanaran performs successfully. Rajamani, Vishnu Giving, Sreenath Basi and the others fill the bill. There are numerous successions loaded up with inadvertent funniness.
Vinayan investigates every possibility to cause you to accept that is it's a horror movie. There's not a solitary scene which panics you or even endeavors at being one. Some flashbacks from the first film interface well with the film. The screenplay is also to be accused however as is commonly said, if the whole universe plans to make your film look terrible, nothing can stop it. The unsuitable script, lack of the frightening component in the horror scenes and the common exhibitions of the lead characters are negatives. The film has music by Bijibal while Prakash Kutty handles cinematography and Abhilash will deal with editing.
Verdict: Aakasha Ganga 2 offers the same old thing, not regarding narrating nor in bringing out a dread with the standard excites and spills. I was expecting an incredible return from Vinayan with one. This film was the most underutilized one in Malayalam. Vinayan sir, accompany a sequel and terrify everybody.
