Brussels, Oct 17 (SocialNews.XYZ) European Parliament President David Sassoli and leading MEPs agreed to cancel the assembly's confirmation vote on the new European Commission slated for next week, making the the commission unlikely to take office before December 1, media reported here.
European Parliament has recently rejected three commissioners-designate from Romania, Hungary and France, Xinhua news agency reported.
Once the three commissioners-designate are renamed and pass their individual confirmation hearings, the parliament plans to start the confirmation vote in the week of November 25 to enable the commission to take office on December 1, according to website of POLITICO's Europe edition.
The new European Commission was initially scheduled to take office on November 1.
