Commercial flight services commence from Hindon Airport
New Delhi, Oct 11 (SocialNews.XYZ) Commercial flight services commenced at the Hindon Airport in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad district on Friday.

Air Heritage's flight 4H-104 from Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh to Hindon and 4H-105 from Hindon to Pithoragarh started operations.

The flight took passengers from the civil enclave which has been built at the Hindon Air Force Station. The civil air terminal will connect regional destinations to the national capital.

"The flights will operate six days a week except Thursday," the Airports Authority of India said in a statement.

"Communication has been received from Star Air that they are also going to operate scheduled flights for Hubli-Hindon-Hubli with effect from 6th November, 2019. Star Air will fly EMB-145 (Jet engine), a 50-seater aircraft," it said.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence had agreed to provide the Air Force base for flight operations under the second round of the Regional Connectivity Scheme 'Udan' (RCS-Udan).

The Hindon Air Force Station is located around 30 km away from downtown New Delhi and is spread over an area of over 55 sq km, making it one of the largest air bases in Asia. It comes under the IAF's frontline Western Air Command.
