Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Movie Telugu shows in Toronto has been canceled

All shows of  Sye Raa (Telugu) has been canceled in Toronto, Canada. The reason we are being told is due to some disturbances that have taken place in the theaters that are screening Sye Raa. In the past, similar incidents happened with Tamil film ' Theri '.

Some media outlets are reporting that the damage of screens/bear spray in Landmark cinemas showing Sye Raa maybe by local Srilankan theatre exhibitors because playing in Cineplexes for less price is damaging their business.

Here is a full statement of police on Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy's cancellation:

Good evening Mr. SIDHU

I am a detective with the Waterloo Regional Police Service and I am seeking your immediate assistance to assist with a public safety issue.

As you are probably aware there were 2 separate incidents in Ontario today where a male suspect entered Landmark Cinemas and pulled a knife and cut the screen The suspect then sprayed the audience with a bear or pepper spray substance and fled the area The incidents occurred in Kitchener and a second in Whitby both in the province of Ontario.

This was clearly a targeted event specifically in relation to the film Sie Raa Narasimha Reddy being played in the Telugu language.

There is a huge concern with other similar incidents occurring and the potential that someone could be seriously injured or ultimately killed There are weapons and violence involved and our priority is to protect the general public, the cinema staff, police and the suspects themselves.

We are seeking your assistance in providing us with contact information for all who have the right to play this movie. This is for the purpose of contacting them and making them aware of the incidents so they can take appropriate precautions.
