Directed by M Padmakumar with the backdrops of 1695, Mamangam is based on a religious festival, which was held once in 12 years at Thirunavaya across the banks of Bharatpuzha. As part of the history, fierce battles were waged by a few men against a mighty king during Mamangam for 280 years. As part of the film, it will showcase & highlight the story of one great real hero and one glorious unknown hero in an extraordinary narrative. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly under Kavya Film Company at a whopping budget, Mamangam will be the first-ever Malayalam movie to be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi respectively.
Now as the teaser is out, it opens up to the Visual Grandeur of Mamangam festival celebration back in AD 1695.
