Vaibhav Gehlot all set to be next RCA chief

Jaipur, Oct 1 (SocialNews.XYZ) Putting all speculations to end, the final list for the Rajasthan Cricket Association elections has been declared in which three cricket associations from Nagaur, Alwar and Shriganganagar has been disqualified, thus paving way for Vaibhav Gehlot, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot's son, to become the RCA president.

The list, which was scheduled to release at 8 p.m. on Monday, was released at 2 a.m. on Tuesday by the electoral officer.

Vaibhav was recently inducted into the RCA from Rajsamand as a treasurer and hence his name was added in the voting list. However, the name of Rameshwar Dudi, who also claimed his stake as the association president, has been deleted from the list as the Nagaur Cricket Association which he represented was disqualified.

Official sources claimed, current RCA President C.P. Joshi holds a firm grip in cricket associations of 18 districts out of 30 and these associations would vote for Vaibhav, which will ensure his unanimous win.

Earlier, Vaibhav held many meetings with Joshi raising speculations of him being elevated in the RCA.

All three district associations disqualified were known to be loyalists of Lalit Modi, former president of RCA and the first chairperson of IPL.

The nomination filing starts from Tuesday and shall continue till Wednesday while the voting is scheduled for Friday.

Speaking to the media, Dudi said that the government machinery has been misutilised for the RCA elections. He also accused Congress leader Joshi of promoting groupism in the state unit and said that no association/organisation can move ahead with groupism.

RCA has been in the grip of groupism for many years and hence its growth has turned stagnant, he said adding that two AAG were appointed to make hearing in the case who should have been in "our looking to other state-related cases".

Meanwhile, Kota district association chief Aameen Pathan accused that Lalit Modi is still governing many district associations in the RCA. He said that despite being from the BJP entity, he salutes the way C.P. Joshi helped RCA pass out through the banned tenure and re-organised IPL in state.

Nagaur MP Hanuman Beniwal had recently accused Chief Minister Gehlot of getting engrossed in finding newer ways and means to ensure his "unemployed son" gets a standing.

The BCCI had in September lifted RCA's suspension after the cricket body informed the board that it has become compliant with Lodha Committee guidelines.
