IDEMITSU Honda Racing India aims for another stellar show

Chennai, Sep 26 (IANS) The IDEMITSU Honda Racing India Team aims to yet again seal the triple crown victory in MRF MMSC FMSCI Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship 2019 - Round 5. Holding the baton for the team are 18 riders in Pro-Stock 201-300cc & Pro-Stock 165cc classes. With a stellar display of performances, 21 young guns will fight for the title in the two IDEMITSU Honda India Talent championships, 8 in the NSF250R class and 13 in the CBR 150R class.

Topping the Pro-Stock 165cc championship tally with 150 points is IDEMITSU Honda Ten10 Racing India rider Rajiv Sethu (1st) standing tall with his unbeatable 6 straight wins. Rounding up the second spot with 126 points is his team-mate Sarath Kumar. Making Honda's pitch stronger are K. Kannan (4th), Yashas R.L (6th) and Arvind B (10th). Armed with 304 points and 94 points margin, Honda Ten10 Racing team is all charged to grab its 5th consecutive Triple Crown Victory this weekend.

Meanwhile, 12 riders from 5 teams will wage the battle for supremacy in PS 201-300cc class. With a healthy 140 points courtesy 6 podiums including 5 wins, Anish Shetty enters the finale round with a clear upper hand and a 51 point lead over Bengaluru's racing marvel Abhishek V. with 99 points. But with double points being awarded in the last round, Aravind B. (3rd with 69 points) may just be a dark horse too.

Speaking on the final round, Prabhu Nagaraj, Vice President, Brand and Communications, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. said: "Earlier this year, Honda announced its aim of brand leadership in national championship and developing next-generation riders of world calibre through our IDEMITSU Honda India Talent Cup. Honda riders are on top of their game and we are all set to meet our targets. Rajiv and Sarath are 1-2 in the PS-165cc championship."

"Parallel, Anish, Abhishek and Aravind are leading PS 201-300. Despite the googly of double points in both races of the last round, we are confident of our boys' performance and consistency. The aim is Triple Crown victory in both classes. Meanwhile, youngsters are riding with passion. Our 8 young guns are now on an average 3 seconds faster on their NSF250R. Our rookie sensations in CBR150R championship are coming from all across India. The future of motorsport is bright and Honda enters the finale round with the intention to win," he added.
