Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday claimed that he never sought to impose Hindi over regional languages. Talking to news agency ANI, Amit Shah claimed that he had only requested everyone to learn Hindi as the second language.
"I never asked for imposing Hindi over other regional languages and had only requested for learning Hindi as the second language after one’s mother tongue," ANI quoted Amit Shah as saying.
The home minister also accused Opposition parties of playing politics over his statement.
