Hyderabad, Sep 18 (IANS) Jana Sena Party (JSP) chief Pawan Kalyan who is at the centre of a campaign to "save Nallamalla forests" in Telangana on Wednesday alleged that 400 Twitter accounts belonging to his party's supporters were suspended.
"I don't understand the reason for suspending 400 Twitter accounts of Janasena supporters.The reason behind the suspension of these accounts; just for standing by helpless people and their issues? And how do we understand this #BringBackJSPSocialMedia," the actor-turned-politician said in a tweet.
Party activists alleged that Twitter India suspended the accounts under pressure from the government.
"Dear @Twitter @Twitterindia before suspending our accounts once check the facts, Otherwise you please mention that 'Working For Better Society Would Be Treated As Illegal Activity' In your rules," tweeted one supporter.
"Do you suspended my accounts.#BringBackJSPSocialMedia I can open another account,but don't give up. we all are janasainikas not a common man," wrote another.
The party supporters alleged that the suspensions of the accounts were in reaction to their campaign against the proposed uranium mining in Nallamala forest in Telangana.
JSP supporters demanded the roll back of the suspensions as they started tweeting with the hashtag #BringBackJSPSocialMedia.
Twitter did not immediately respond to a request for a comment.
