Los Angeles, Sep 18 (IANS) Actor Jamie Bell might join actor Michael B. Jordan in the adaptation of "Without Remorse".
Bell is in final negotiations to sign the project, which will infuse life to the Tom Clancy novel, reports "variety.com".
Stefano Sollima has been assigned directing duties, and will be helming the Paramount project from a script by Taylor Sheridan.
Jordan will feature as as operations officer John Clark, also known as John Terrence Kelly, a former Navy SEAL who goes to work for the CIA.
If all goes well, Bell will be seen as Robert Ritter, the deputy director of operations at the CIA who was a major character in the Clancy universe and helped recruit Kelly into the CIA. Ritter has made appearances in several Clancy novels including "Clear and Present Danger", which was also adapted into a movie.
Paramount plans to build a franchise around Jordan's portrayal of Clark. The character has appeared in 17 of Clancy's novels, starting with 1988's "The Cardinal of the Kremlin".
He is seen as a secondary character who helps CIA analyst Jack Ryan with the physical elements of missions. He steps into spotlight with "Without Remorse", which traces his backstory.
