Nani's Gang Leader has finally hit the theaters. Let's see what director Vikram K Kumar has packaged in this revenge drama.
The movie cast includes Nani as Pencil Parthasarathy, Priyanka Arul Mohan as Priya, Lakshmi as Saraswathi, Kartikeya Gummakonda as the Main villain, Saranya Ponvannan as Varalakshmi, Shriya Reddy as Swathi, Praanya P Rao as Chinnu, Anish Kuruvilla, Vennela Kishore, Raghu Babu, Priyadarshi Pulikonda and Sathya. The music is provided by Anirudh and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
The movie opens with a bank robbery orchestrated by Karthikeya. Little long but good. Anirudh's BGM is big asset.
Karthikeya kills 5 partners in the robbery. Lakshmi the grandmother of one of the deceased assemble the family members of other 4 to take revenge. This episode is funny and emotional.
Nani is introduced as revenge writer (who rips of Hollywood movies) to help the gang to get their revenge.
He rejects their request but later convinced by his publisher friend Priyadarshi to make this revenge as the story for his next book.
Time to assemble the gang and here comes Ra Ra song.
Until now except robbery, everything is seen in promos of the movie.
Now the gang starts the search to find the 6th guy.
Search, romance and drama in one song is something new.
"Goda kanipisthe prathivadu Amarasilpi Jakanne".
"Revenge vadili velladu".
Episode to seduce Vennela Kishore who turns out to be gay is funny.
Karthikeya is introduced as Dev No 1 race driver who is an ambulance driver until a year back. He will do anything or kill anyone to get what he wants.
The gang found their 6th man. The battle lines are drawn.
Good first half. Funny and Witty
Second Half starts with "Hoyna Hoyna" song with kid sentiment and gang bonding.
Intelligent use of songs to move the story along.
The revengers find the robbery money and the game starts now.
Cat and Mouse game and narrow escape.
A nice backstory for the robbers who are killed.
The cat and mouse game is a little slow but good.
An interesting twist. Revenge does not age.
Gang Leader climax time. Finally, a duel to satisfy the masses.
Overall a good movie. Every actor did their job well.
