Islamabad,, Aug 31 (IANS) Former Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari was shifted to Adiala jail in Rawalpindi after medical tests at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
According to News International, Zardari, brought to PIMS for a medical check-up, is suffering from heart, back and spinal problems. He was kept at the hospital amid tight security with all passages to OPD closed, which caused problems to the common people.
The security officers didn't allow even his daughter Aseefa Bhutto to meet him. Later talking to media outside the hospital, she said her father's medical condition was 'critical', and adding the government would be responsible if anything happened to him.
Later the youngest daughter of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto tweeted: "I went to see my father, with a court order in hand. Hospital doors were locked when they saw me, no patients allowed in or out. What authority does this selective government have to shut down the entire hospital and deny patients and citizens entry?"
Zardari is accused in a multi-million dollar money laundering case along with his sister.
