Jaipur, Aug 23 (IANS) A truck carrying over 182 kg of marijuana (ganja) was impounded by CID Crime Branch and Kotwali police Dholpur, near Madhya Pradesh border on Friday, a day after over 600 kg of marijuana was seized in Jaipur, said police.
The seized contraband was in a concentrated form, Additional Director General (crime) B.L. Soni told IANS, adding two people -- Chatar Singh, a resident of Bharatpur and Om Prakash Yadav, a resident of Alwar -- have been arrested under the NDPS Act.
"This is one of the strong actions taken against drug smugglers in the last two days," Soni said.
Soni further said the police acted on a tip-off that a truck carrying illegal marijuana was on its way to Rajasthan. A police team was sent to Dholpur and from Friday morning, all check posts were sealed.
"A truck was searched during the checking drive and marijuana was found stacked in plastic containers," said Soni.
On Thursday, the police had seized ganja worth Rs 1 crore weighing over 600 kg stored in a house in Jaipur.
