Mamata’s tea-selling act ‘scripted, melodramatic’: Roy

Kolkata, Aug 22 (IANS) West Bengal BJP leader Mukul Roy on Thursday attacked Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for donning the role of a tea-seller at a roadside stall and claimed that "enacting scripted and melodramatic scenes won't save her chair."

Roy, a former right hand man of Banerjee, also accused her Trinamool Congress party of "brutalising democracy" and killing over 100 political workers.

"Just enacting melodramatic scenes won't save your CM's chair as the reality is that you have brutalised democracy in West Bengal where more than 100 political workers have been killed mercilessly by your goons," he tweeted.

Banerjee was on Wednesday spotted brewing cups of tea at a roadside stall during a tour to the state's coastal town of Digha, that caught the eye of social media users.
