Jaipur, Aug 9 (IANS) In yet another case of honey trap, the Rajasthan Police have arrested a woman and her aide for demanding Rs 30 lakh from two innocent men for changing her statement after levelling rape charges against them.
According to Vikas Sharma, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jaipur West, "The accused woman on August 2 had filed a rape case against two men in a mahila police station. She had alleged that she was raped after her drinks were spiked. Her complaint was lodged and medical test was conducted."
In between, the accused woman and her partner Jogendra Singh settled a deal of Rs 30 lakh with the two men, promising to change her statement if the money was paid.
After the two youth reported the matter to the police, the officers formed different teams to collect vital information on the case. As the woman was supposed to give her statement on Thursday, she and her partner put pressure on the two men to deliver the said amount and called them to Sikar.
The police were kept in the loop by the two men and the couple were caught red-handed while taking Rs 5 lakh from the men.
Further investigations are on in the case, Sharma said.
