Dr. Rajasekhar Voices Support To Junior Doctors Fighting Against The NMC Bill

The senior actor is the first film celebrity in the country to voice concern about Bill's controversial proposals. He tweeted against the Bill and called it nonsensical. With his opposition, many have come to know of Bill's deleterious proposals. Large sections of the population are now sympathizing with the cause fo the striking junior doctors.

Speaking on the issue, Dr. Rajasekhar says, "It's important for the government to let us know what is the nitty-gritty of the Bill. It's not easy for any individual to study MBBS and practice as a house surgeon. Medicine is a complex subject. How can you say that someone can become a doctor by doing a crash course? How are you going to produce an efficient doctor in just six months? An incompetent doctor can put lives at risk. As a qualified doctor, I am totally opposed to this life-threatening bill."

He further says, "Medicine is not akin to artworks like drawing and painting. If an Engineer does a crash course and goes about constructing buildings, the structures will collapse."

"There are a number of quacks in Indian villages. A Bill like this will weaponise these quacks," the actor adds.

నాలుగేళ్లు ఎంబిబిఎస్ చదివి, తర్వాత ఓ ఏడాది హౌస్ సర్జన్ గా సేవలు చేస్తే ప్రభుత్వం డాక్టర్ పట్టా చేతికి వస్తుంది. ఇప్పటివరకూ ఇదే పద్దతి నడిచింది. తాజాగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం తీసుకొచ్చిన 'జాతీయ మెడికల్ కమిషన్' (ఎన్.ఎం.సి) ద్వారా ఆయుర్వేద, యునాని, ఇతర వైద్యవిద్యను అభ్యసించినవారు ఎవరైనా కొత్తగా ప్రవేశపెట్టే ఆరు నెలల కోర్స్ లో ఉత్తీర్ణత సాధిస్తే, ఎంబిబిఎస్ డాక్టర్స్ తరహాలో ప్రాక్టీస్ చేయవచ్చు. ఈ బిల్లును ప్రముఖ కథానాయకుడు రాజశేఖర్ వ్యతిరేకిస్తున్నారు. బిల్లును వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ తమ నిరసన వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్న జూనియర్ డాక్టర్లకు ఆయన మద్దతు తెలిపారు. ట్వీట్స్ చేశారు. మన దేశంలో ఇప్పటివరకూ నటీనటులు ఎవరూ ఎన్.ఎం.సి బిల్లుపై స్పందించలేదు. రాజశేఖర్ గారు స్పందించడంతో వెలుగులోకి వచ్చింది. జూనియర్ డాక్టర్ల నిరసనకు ప్రచారం దక్కింది. సామాన్య ప్రజలకు, సినిమా ప్రేక్షకులకు తెలిసింది.

రాజశేఖర్ మాట్లాడుతూ "ఎన్.ఎం.సి బిల్లులో కొన్ని పరిమితులు ఉంటాయని చెప్పారు. అవేంటి? అనేది తెలియజేయలేదు. ఫలానా వ్యక్తికి వైద్య సేవలు అందించే అర్హత ఉందని, లేదని ఎలా చెబుతారు? ఎంబిబిఎస్ చదివి, తరవాత హౌస్ సర్జన్ చేయడం మామూలు విషయం కాదు. అదొక పెద్ద సబ్జెక్టు. ఆరు నెలలు క్రాష్ కోర్స్ చేస్తే సులభంగా డాక్టర్లు కావొచ్చంటే ఎలా? ఆరు నెలలలో ఎలా వైద్యుణ్ణి తయారు చేస్తారు? అనుకోనివి జరిగితే ప్రజల ప్రాణాలకు ముప్పు వాటిల్లుతుంది. ప్రాణాలతో చెలగాటం ఆడే ఇటువంటి బిల్లును ఒక వైద్యుడిగా నేను తీవ్రంగా వ్యతిరేకిస్తున్నాను" అని అన్నారు.

క్రాష్ కోర్స్ చేయడానికి వైద్యవృత్తి ఏమైనా డ్రాయింగా? పెయింటింగా? అని రాజశేఖర్ ప్రశ్నించారు. "ఇంజినీరింగ్, ఎంబిబిఎస్ బదులు క్రాష్ కోర్సులు పెడితే బిల్డింగులు కూలిపోతాయి. ప్రజల ప్రాణాలు పోతాయి" అని జూనియర్ డాక్టర్లు నిరసన వ్యక్తం చేస్తున్నారు. వారికి రాజశేఖర్ మద్దతు తెలిపారు. "ఇప్పటికే గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాల్లో అనేకమంది దొంగ డాక్టర్లు చలామణీ అవుతున్నారు. ఇటువంటి బిల్లు వస్తే అటువంటి దొంగ డాక్టర్లకు ఆయుధం దొరికినట్టు ఉంటుంది" అని రాజశేఖర్ అన్నారు.
