Islamabad, Aug 1 (IANS) Pakistan on Thursday summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner Gaurav Ahluwalia, the third time in five days, to protest against "unprovoked ceasefire violations" by Indian forces along the LoC, that had led to several casualties.
Mohammed Faisal, Foreign Office spokesperson and Director General (South Asia & SAARC), summoned the Indian Deputy High Commissioner on Thursday, and before that on July 28 and 30.
He said that the Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) and international boundary "have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with heavy mortars and automatic weapons which still continues".
He said that on July 28, the ceasefire violations in Nezapir Sector led to the killing of a woman, while three civilians were injured. In the Kailer Sector, another civilian was injured.
On July 30, a civilian was killed while nine other civilians, including women and children, were injured.
On July 31, in Nauseri Sector, one woman was killed while six other civilians including women and children were injured in the firing, he said at the weekly briefing.
