Coimbatore, July 31 (IANS) The fourth season of Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup started on an exciting note as Ikshan Shanbag from Satara grabbed the first position.
Young biking enthusiasts, between 12 and 16 years of age, have a chance to showcase their prowess on an international stage, with the fourth edition of the cup.
The race was challenging where Ikshan emerged as a winner with a record-breaking 10-lap time during Race 1. Aryan Gaurav from Pune and Aditi Krishnan from Bengaluru finished at second and third place at the end of 9 laps.
For Race 2, while Ikshan continued to dominate the racetrack and successfully secured the No. 1 position by finishing 10 laps in 15:01.223 minutes, the second and third spot was held by Chennai's Prashanth R (14:34.988) and Aryan (14:35.073) respectively after completing nine laps.
The spirited riders displayed great performance and skills on the racetrack from July 26 to 28.
The championship (12-16 years of age) is organised under the aegis of FIM and Federation of Motorsports Club of India (FMSCI), in association with Suzuki Gixxer Cup, a part of JK Tyre National Racing Championship.
After the thrilling Round 1, Red Bull Road to Rookies Cup 2019 is all geared up for Round 2, to be held on August 31 and September 1 at Kari Motor Speedway, Coimbatore.
