Prof K Nageshwar: Did BJP Force Governor On KCR? (Video)

Telangana Governor ESL Narasimhan raised several objections and returned the new Municipal Act passed by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government by calling a special assembly session which was convened last Thursday.

While the government wants to conduct polls under the new rule, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had approached the governor opposing it.

The new act had reduced the powers of the state election commission, which according to experts is against the spirit of the Constitution and given a wide range of power to the government to hold elections at urban local bodies in the state.
