SHUICHENG, July 24, 2019 (Xinhua) — Rescuers transfer the body of a victim at a landslide site at Pingdi Village in Shuicheng County of Liupanshui City, southwest China’s Guizhou Province, July 24, 2019. Eleven people are dead after a landslide hit Pingdi Village late Tuesday, local authorities said Wednesday. At about 9:20 p.m. (1320 GMT) Tuesday, a landslide lashed the village, burying 21 houses. More than 50 people were living in the affected area when the landslide struck, according to rescuers. As of about 11 a.m. (0300 GMT) Wednesday, 11 people were found dead, 11 others were rescued, and 34 remained missing. (Xinhua/Tao Liang/IANS)
