Thiruvananthapuram, July 22 (IANS) Kerala Governor P. Sathasivam and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday congratulated the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) for the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2.
"I join the nation in congratulating the scientists of Indian Space Research Organization for the successful launch of Chandrayaan-2 from Sriharikota. Their dedicated efforts have elevated India's global position in space science," the Governor said.
Vijayan said this is a huge achievement for the country. Congratulating the ISRO and their scientists for the successful launch, he noted that the scientists who worked for the country's second lunar mission, included many Malayali scientists too.
ISRO Chairman K. Sivan was the head of the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre here before taking over as the chief of the space agency.
