The film has made Rs 218 crore domestically, and Vanga says that it can cross the Rs 300 crore mark, which would make it the most successful Bollywood film of 2019. The film has already become Shahid Kapoor’s biggest solo release of his career.
Talking about allegations of toxic masculinity in 'Kabir Singh', director Sandeep Reddy Vanga said, "When you're deeply in love and...you don't have the liberty of slapping each other if you can’t touch your woman wherever you want, I don’t see emotion."
Referring to film critic Rajeev Masand as "some fat guy who reviewed my film", Vanga said, "He gave two (stars) and the audience gave ₹200 crore." He added that the same Rajeev Masand gave Ranbeer Kapoor starrer 'Sanju' a three and a half rating where the Mangalsutra is referred in an indecent way and the hero himself admitted that he had slept with more than 300 times for which the audience apparently clapped and enjoyed. He told that it was completely different when it comes to his movie.
Singling out critics who’ve slammed his film, Vanga described them as ‘parasites who are the real threat to the film industry’ and said, “Probably they never experienced (love) in the right way.” He added, “They were only on the feminist side, they didn’t speak about anything else.”
Eventually, when the anchor asked him whether one can expect a movie which is prone to less criticism, Sandeep responded that he won’t step back for anyone and clarified that he will definitely show what the real violence in a movie would be like if they want.
Meanwhile, the people and the netizens praised Sandeep Reddy Vanga who laid red carpet for Kabir Singh at the Box-Office.
